Brushes for MAC Fluidline

Hi everyone. I've been using the MAC fluidline a lot recently and had just about got a technique down when I picked up my Boots slanted eyeliner brush this morning and found that the bristles were all split and broken :(

I have a BT voucher so I'm looking to invest in a higher quality eyeliner brush. Just looking for experiences and opinions really.

I was thinking of MAC 266 or 263 which are the most similar to the brush I'm used to. However there's also the 209 and 210 thin brushes, and of course the flat ones... jeez it's tough to decide! The thin ones look like they'd be difficult to do decent lines with but they all have positive reviews. Smashbox (though they're not in BT) do another angled brush that looks interesting.

Ideally I'd like a brush that's a good allrounder (one that can do dramatic thick lines, or simple thin lines, and the waterline) but I'm not averse to buying two brushes if necessary. Anyone got any experience with these brushes, or have a brush that they would recommend? Cheers!

MAC 208 is the best eye liner brush I've come across. It's a very fine angled brush, great for precision. About €20 in BT's.
    HTH :)

I use 209 for fluidlines, but I personally find the angle brushes pick up too much product. I use angle brushes for lining with eyeshadow.

I agree with Lainey316....I love the 266 but it can sometimes give too thick of a line.

You could try ELF.. I'm loving their products right now including their brushes

This one is only 1.70

Or one of their studio brushes for 4.00

No. 266 brush. Thin or thick lines.

    I'd recommend the 266 also!

Thank you everyone! I actually had a dig through my makeup drawer and found a miniature 209 from one of the MAC Christmas brush sets, so I'm going to see how I get on with that. As for buying one, I'm torn between the 208 and 266 now :) I'll have a think about it.

Those ELF brushes are amazing value- definitely going to check them out for other brushes as well.

I'm pretty sure the 208 is a much smaller brush than the 266.

Definitely get an angled brush. They are easier to use as you just sit it on the eyelid and drag it across. Could never get the hang of the 209 brushes! :o

I remember abandoning the 209 mini brush after completely mucking things up the first time I used it! I realised this morning my problem was that I was trying to use the tip, like a paintbrush. What I SHOULD have been doing was 'swiping' it along the side and that way I get a nice, thin, even line. Yay!

ELF is great. Their studio line is comparable to high end brands such as mac.
