French Oral - Quebec French - I can't understand my brother

So the problem is that my brother speaks to these friends of his in Québec in Canada, and they help him out with his French sometimes.

Apparently the french there is very different to what's taught in school in Ireland (i.e. what I learned) so when I try to help him out I can't understand the words he's using (maybe that's my rusty french though).

I'm asking on his behalf if that will affect his French Oral or not? Do they accept all dialects/accents?? Surely if the examiner hadn't been exposed to it that they'd have a problem too??

Advice on this would be appreciated greatly,
    Jack
