Picking up Dave on ariel, how?

    Just did a channel rescan on my TV using region UK. I am in the west of Ireland. It found 33 odd digital channels and some analog. Of the 33 digital, I am getting a weak non encrypted reception of the likes of

    Dave
    Dave Ja Vu
    Sky Three
    E4
    Big Deal
    Adult Blue

    What am I seeing here, is this Freeview? Is Dave on Freeview?

    Bear in mind the channels are breaking up and mostly unwatchable but they are there and free.

    County Sligo, I pick up DTT and Analog on an old UHF aerial on 2 story house next door. Often pick up UK DTT channels on a high pressure clear night. Never knew Dave was free on Freeview. I got a shcok to see it just now.

    How come they don't let go FTA?

    There's not enough room on the satellite for everyone. There are several satellites in the Astra 2 constellation that Sky use, but only one (2D I think) has narrow enough focus that a channel can broadcast unencrypted to the UK with just us getting spillover (and some continentals, but most would need very large dishes). 2D is fairly full at the moment with the existing Freesat channels, and I'd say Five would have higher priority if any new space were to become available.
