I'm just about to renew my tax for the car and I'm going to change the place where the car sleeps with the insurance company as I've recently moved into rental accommodation but want to keep my home address as correspondance. Does it matter if the insurance and tax address don't match?

Nah the tax man doesn't care where your car sleeps. As long as you supply insurance no and expiry date you will have no problem taxing it.

There are no different rating aspects with regard to road tax as to where the vehicle is maintained but there is for insurance. You should advise them at next renewal date under your duty of disclosure

Tax man doesn't care as long as you give him money.

Insurance is different as they may regard the new address as a higher risk and seek additional premium.

Good luck in your new home.
