Hi, I was looking at the price list for Optilase procedures and they quote the prices minus a 20% tax rebate.
Is this a rebate you get in your wages? I am currently not working, so does this mean I will have to pay the full amount?
    Thank you

It's Tax relief against PAYE Tax you paid IN THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR i.e. 1/1/11 to 31/12/11

You claim it (the following year) against the tax you paid the previous year. The 20% is the tax rate at which you can claim back on (in this case the lower rate as opposed to the higher rate of 42%).
So if you paid 3000 you would get 600 back provided you paid over 600 in tax during that year.

If you paid PAYE tax (not PRSI or levy's) you qualify regardless of your current status. The refund can be sent directly to your bank or cheque.

To claim, and futher info look here:
    The form is the MED1
