    Hey guys,
Recently bought an atom netbook and Skype states the processor is too slow to run Skype even though I have no other apps open.

    Is this a known issue?
Anyone know any solution the netbook is,plugged in and,not on,a power saving mode.

    Thanks

For best quality we recommend you use a high-speed broadband connection of 4Mbps down / 512kbps up and a computer with a Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz processor

    As a minimum you’ll need a high-speed broad connection of 512kbps down / 128kbps up and a computer with a 1 GHz processor.

That's an absolute minium for Skype basics, unless its a dual core Atom, then it might have some troubles for video calls etc, but it should be ok for basic phonecalls

I have a Samsung NC10 which also uses the Atom N270 and Skype never stops complaining about the computer running slow but I have absolutely no problems, even video calling is smooth as silk. Win7 w/balanced power setting, newest Skype.

TBH I think Skype's assessment is bullshayt, once it said... well, see for yourselves :D
