Where to find some 'everyday' dresses?

    Hey guys

Does anyone know where I can find some nice day dresses? I'm a bit of dress and cardi kinda girl but I was shopping at the weekend and came out with zilch! I did get a dress in New Look, but I'm returning it because I'm not mad keen on it at all - it was more of a 'I didn't get anything so I'll settle for this' kind of purchase!:o

I'm looking for something knee-length or shorter that accomodates my boobs too! I tried on a few nice dresses, but they just seemed to be tailored for more flat chested women, and it's so frustrating when a dress fits perfect everywhere else:(

    Hi girls

I'm pretty much the same. I tend to wear dresses, tights and cardigans more than I would wear jeans and a top.

I have my eye on 3 dresses in dunnes (getting paid thursday and I will be buying them then). Dunnes don't have them on their website but here's a discription.

Dress 1 - Black with a white speckled design, a-line and has pockets! Very flattering on (I'm a size 14).

Dress 2 - Black with a red/orange flower design. Low neck and it ties at the back under the boobs.

Dress 3 - Navy with a coloured design. Higher neckline than the other two but dips at the back. Has a small belt on it.

All 3 dresses are 28. Definitely worth a look.

I wish dunnes would work on their website!

I agree, even if just for the dresses and shoes, I was so impressed at the start of the season, when they had a few things up, I assumed they'd keep it up, but no :(

I get a lot of my everyday dresses in Urban Outfitters; add some accessories and you can wear them out to the pub as well! It's not overly fancy or formal thankfully, so it can be worth a look (especially if the sale is still on).

My godmother actually had a dress on her on New Years Day that was Savida from Dunnes Stores and it was gorgeous, so yeah, I definitely think there would be worth a look.

Did you have a look in River Island? I was on their website yesterday and I thought their new Spring stock was pretty nice.

Topshop have some nice day dresses.
If you go on their website, click on dresses and there is kind of a filtering thing.
It you filter 'tea dresses' and 'smock dresses', you can see some nice day dresses (and lovely prices too.. not)

I actually didn't even look in Dunnes! I'll have a wee gander at the weekend so :)

Ach I thought Forever 21 was great, til I actually tried to find something to buy in it! I wasn't mad keen on anything I tried on in there. I've been in RI and Topshop but nothing jumped out at me...

Must pop my head into Urban Outfitters too, though I'm on a bit of a budget!:p

Edit: Just came across this - WANT! http://www.riverisland.com/Online/women/dresses/day-dresses/blue-print-tea-dress-600076 I didn't see it at the weekend though, must have another look. I hate buying online because I generally don't know if a dress will fit til I try it on.

I get everyday dresses in most of the high street shops, Topshop, River Island, Miss Selfridges, I usually find my favourites online with places like Mina.

Pennys (hit and miss for me)
    Dunnes
    Topshop
    TK Maxx
Forever 21, have to have a good root
Swamp or Quiz (hit and miss but good for a bargain)

I tried that second one on the other day, but it didn't suit me at all :(

Thanks for the rest of the ideas girls, I think I've been pretty much everywhere except Dunnes so going to try it on Sat! :)

I've got a few cute ones from new look.
Dorothy perkins sometimes have lovely ones online.
Savida are great, their facebook page is a bit better than the dunnes website.

I was going to suggest A Wear for day dresses but I see you've already sussed it out! :) I was in Dunnes today and didn't see much in the line of nice day dresses, some lovely very dressy ones though. I love the Savida range, I almost always come out of there with something pretty.

There's a shop called Dress 4 Less in Swords and Blanchardstown Shopping Centres, not sure if they're in the city centre too? I've picked up some gorgeous dresses in there, might be worth a look if they're in town too. Definitely try a big Dunnes anyway for the Savida range, they might have more of a selection than what I saw today in a medium sized one.

I'd guess about 50e, if not more, they are owned by the same company that own topshop, such a rip off. They deliver to Ireland though, can work out loads cheaper if you're getting more then one item!
