Ever notice when your gym mind shows up outside the gym?

    Here's what I mean.

Started a pretty intensive computer course on a programme for editing and the teacher informed us that there's at least 4 ways of doing the one thing, and also learning all the shortcuts for these moves is key. As my brain was on the verge of exploding with all the new info, I found meself talking to myself in gym speak: "keep on at it, just a few more then there's a break, concentrate!". Felt like I was on treadmill pushing for another minute or interval or lifting another rep! Kept me going tho where years ago I might have allowed my brain to self combust :)

    How about you guys?

Maybe it was your computer editing programme course mind moonlighting in the gym!!

I have a lunatic friend that does that. I avoid him.

Fair nuff. Just me then. Let's put it down to thinking of training while concentrating on something else, rather than insanity tho!

You lost me at gym speak.
Seriously, its not weird just because you were talking to yourself during a computer course, its weird because you do it in the gym.

I don't think it's weird. Sometimes it does help, it gets your mind ready.

    I'm not being sarcastic.

You'd see it in powerlifting videos etc (cannot say competitions as never attended one).

I don't mean nattering to yourself now, just a quick yell or whatever.

I try not to. I'm not the only person working out there and respect the people around me. When I'm there and hear people shouting to themselves, unless they're doing something pretty impressive; I'll just think they're silly as it's quite off putting.

Meh, people yell, grunt, shout. It's not me but I don't assume they are insane.

Op is talking about having a conversation, possibably two sided.

What would you consider pretty impressive?

Holy moley! No she's not!!!! I mean as a THOUGHT, like...like when you're walking home and you think, - must get some spinach and tuna - or whatever... So you say TO YOURSELF PEOPLE, To yourself: just one more, or do another set and you'd be happier with yourself etc in the gym.

    NEVER outloud...ever...ever...that is insane!

Never had it from weights, but the other day I was in bed with the old doll and found myself thinking what would be the handiest way to get side control.

hmm, refering to yourself in the third person, that be another sign of crazy

Split personality if you as me.

    And I agree tbh
