Travel in July or August

    Hi All,

The girlfriend and I want to treat ourselves to a longhaul holiday this year. Neither of us have ever travelled outside Europe. My girlfriend works in a school so we are stuck with July or August, and maybe the Easter break.

I was thinking about Thailand but the weather reviews are bad. Same for Golden-Triangle in India.

I like to travel around the country/area I'm visiting and the odd day at the beach is OK.

Any suggestions on where to go, or not go would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Conor

I've spent a fair few summers in Asia and never had an issue with the weather. Sure in India if it's too hot, or too rainy, you only have to hop on a train to somewhere with a totally different climate. The North West or the North East have climates quite similar to Ireland. You could even pop into Nepal and be so chilled you'd have to wear a jumper.

If you book now you can get some good deals. I'm flying over for 6 weeks in the summer, spent €470 on flights which ain't bad (used skyscanner.net).
