Apology for last night's no-show

The IRL V BRDS thread was locked, and rightly so going by the sh1t talk that was coming from both sides, so I couldn't post this there. I don't want to put this in the "Last night" thread, on the off chance that got sidetracked and locked as well. So I've started a new (somewhat disposable) thread for this.

Sorry guys about my non-appearance last night for "the match". I don't tend to be on boards as often as before, and never at the weekends. So the match update on the other thread was totally missed by me. It was pure chance I was online last night around 10 pm to start with, and it came as a total surprise to hear from Sierra that I was meant to be on the team. Thanks to Jev who filled in for me (capably I hope!!)

From the sounds of the locked thread, it doesn't seem likely that there will be another match. It seems like either group prefer different formats, and cannot let up on the bitching like auld women! So possibly best to just put this idea to bed. But that's not what this post is for. What I am suggesting, is that if this is happening again, I'd still give it a blast. But in future, can I suggest the team captains send out a PM on boards, or via XBL to notify the team of the match as far as possible in advance?

I still wouldn't have probably been available for last night, but at least it might have prevented some confusion.

I just wanted the range of lads involved to know why I wasn't there, but I didn't know who to PM. Hence the thread. So no reason not to lock this immediately, or else at any sniff of trouble or griping.

In all seriousness, it was my mistake. I posted the team on Friday afternoon and assumed all people who confirmed their availability would be in a position to check the thread before the match. Having said that, I wasn't so don't know why I assumed that.

Oh, and your replacement did a more than adequate job

I'd suggest you guys just make a big GB team tbh, as bad as GB's reputation is... The bitching and snarky comments between the IRL and BRDS members in that other thread is a million times worse than anything i've experienced in GB. Competitive games are great craic and are in general far more exciting than the average pub game.

I'm going to be on a GB team with other non-boards guys, so I'll have to be excluded from this. That said, I'm sure the Boards team would wipe the boards with us. (ouch...sorry... that was bad.:o )

Oh, the other thread is closed, so I'll ask here (sorry for hijacking thread) Does anyone know who the host was last night? Just wanted to look up the matches in theatre mode...

I checked in theatre mode today and the games were not listed in my recent games. In private match the game recording option is set to disabled by default so it might not be there due to that.

I think one of the BRDS lads recorded the game so maybe he could post it up for you.
