Loss of Power To Gun

Hey guys, was plinking out the back with my gun and it went dead. I presumed battery was drained as gun was seeming to slow down for the last few shots. When i pulled the trigger there was nothing, no noise, no clicking, no turning of motor. So i cam einto house and started charging battery. After about 10 mins i connected battery back to gun to see if gun would fire. It fired a few shots gain before the samehappened so i presumed battery was dead. I then charged battery for a few hours but when i connected back up there was nothing from the gun again. No clicking or turning of motor. I've bypassed the fuse and its still dead. It's a CA M15A4 Ris (full metal). Battery is an ASG 9.6 v/ 2000mAH NiMH. When putting the prongs of a multi meter across leads of battery i was getting 6.6 volts on meter. Any ideas what might be causing it to not work?

Have you tried a 2nd battery?
This will just rule out if it is the battery or something else.

With the motor sounding like it was slowing down, it might be worth checking the motor adjustment screw at the bottom of the pistol grip.
Try turning it anti-clockwise half a turn and then try firing again.
These adjustment screws can tighten themselves until the motor is jammed in a bit too much and no longer turn.
It is always best to set the adjustment screw in place with some light to medium use threadlock to stop it from moving.

    Hope this helps.

You got 6.6v off a charged 9.6v battery? If so the battery is f.... Fu...... Goosed! You should get a reading of approx 10-10.3v off a freshly charged 9.6v pack.

I've checked the connections and all seem to be grand so in my opinion, it's either the battery or the charger. What kind of reading should you be getting from the charger when using the mutli-meter?

For a 9.6v battery it should charge somewhere around 11v. Sounds like only some of the cells of your battery are not holding the charge. So the battery is gone if this is the case.

If that battery is by classic army and it comes in 3 seperate battery packs then just try a different 9.6 as the stock battery that comes with that gun is faulty and it constantly acts up on my friends m15

Measured it on multi-meter again there and battery is only reading 1.5volts or so, so it's probably the battery. Is there any way of checking whether te chargr is fubared. Its an ASG charger and has a power light, a charg light, a ready light, a discharge light and a small yellow button saying "press" which i'd presume is for discharge. When i have it connected to battery both the "ready" light and the "charge" light keep flashing on and off. Here is what the charger looks like.....

Only difference i can see is that mine says it has an 800mA output. I'm going to try a different battery in it tomorrow or next day to see if that works.

Would seem the most likely scenario  Will know when i try different battery in it. Should i go for the same battery again or any other recommendations?

I've never had a bad word to say about Intellect batteries. They are workhorses :)
