Got a letter back today from CRO saying that my Registration of a Business name was rejected as my address appears to be a residential address!

I was registering as a individual for a craft manufacturing business.

Didn't know this was a problem?

    I had this problem before

I was starting my online business from home.

I just had to send a letter stating that the business was online and would be operating from my house.

Happened to me the other day. I just gave them a call. All they asked for was a hand written note saying that I was working from my home office and the stock would be stored in a warehouse ir storeroom.

Just call them. Very good to deal with.

No, I wanted to register a business name.
I'm in the process of starting a craft or cottage industry type thing more that an fully blown manufacturing outfit.
I just wanted to do thing right from the start.

Edit: Just writing letter stating that I needed to register the name so I could register the website to do market research.
Also added a note that I will be relocating to a business address or applying for planning permission to convert an outbuilding if results are positive.

    Sorry to hijack this thread!

I registered a Business name online last night and used my home address. Im only registering the business name as I need a .IE domain. Im sending in the signed registration and fee today. Should I include a note saying I'll be working from home because it is a website Im operating?

I wouldn't bother. It's easy enough to sort out if there is a problem, and they seem to process the online submissions very quickly.

The real issue here is the poor selection of businesses you have to choose from in the drop down lists on the CRO website. They have nothing that approximates to a website start up from home, which is how so many online businesses begin. Loads of options if you're planning to go mining though.
