Resolution via VGA port on HDTV

Now I may be way off here but I think on a Full HD TV the max resolution you can get via the VGA port is different to the max res that the TV is capable of.

I'm looking to order the television below to hook up to a PC, pref via the VGA port, to display 1680 x 1050. Should I be careful to check the max res via the VGA port or is it a case that once it's Full HD that resolution won't be an issue?

    Thanks!

Best to check what resolutions your graphic card can do.
But most "good" monitors for the last >5 years have been better then HD.

The one major issue is most monitors upto a year or two ago were 16:10.
But then have since changed to 16:9 { don't get me starting on this.... } so they can save money and sell them as HD { even thought the older versions were better}.

    TL;DR

VGA can do better then HD but check that your graphics card will output resolutions that your TV can do naively.
