Tennis Elbow

Got tennis elbow in November over practicing in anticipation for new clubs Santa was bringing me. Now I have clubs but can't play as rest is the recommended cure.

Has anyone else suffered this problem? I changed my grip on instruction from a pro and wonder whether twisting my grip to a stronger position has caused or agravated the problem.

Any thoughts comments, suggestions, remedies or other observations would be appreciated.

Have the same problem for the last 6 years after my caddy car turned over and twisted my elbow for the first 4 years was getting steroid injections from the doc followed by 6 weeks of rest played havoc with golf. The next flare up he was going to send me to see a surgeon. The relief from the last injection only lasted 1 week where as i was usually getting about 6 months pain free.

It was getting so bad that if I slept on my elbow at night it would cause pain for days. On the recommendation of a friend I got acupuncture 10 session over 4 weeks and apart from the odd twinge it has being great solution.

i hope things dont deteriorate for you but laser might be worth bearing in mind. very sucessful with tennis/ golfers elbow. i had surgery on mine as laser was new at the time, prior to surgery i was on anti inflams, then accupuncture , physio, cortisone, reki, chiropractor, even rest ! surgery was pretty good not perfect but good enough. if i ever had to go again (everything crossed i never will ) id consider laser.

hi .have been there with the tennis /golfers elbow. i had both, which do you have ?? if the pain is on the in side of the elbow its golfers, if its on the outside of the elbow its tennis elbow. both are very sore. i got mine from a change in grip size on a driver. anyway if your in dublin go to murray's chemist on talbot street. they are very helpful and will give you an ortopedic strap which is inexpensive and when worn properly for a few weeks should clear it up .worked for me any way, just lift the pint with the other hand
    good luck

would recommend a course of acupuncture and moxibusion. If you have health insurance you can claim back. some policies give up to 35euro per session. Costs vary from place to place anywhere between 40 to 70 euro. You need to use a registered acupuncturist for your insurance company. If you go to the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association website it will give you a list of registered members by county. Really good for pain and inflamation.

try ultrasound machine. i got on from www.tensproducts.com for $90. great for lots of different injuries (muscles etc.) if you know any greyhound trainer they should have one, as they are used for treating injuries in greyhounds too.
