    Asked, and answered. :D

Basically, over the next few weeks, we would discuss dates, once we have decided on the dates, then everyone is responsible for booking their own plane tickets, and finding their own accomodation.

I must review a few things first before I can say if I can go or not. Definitely want to go, even before checking out the Munich section of www.eat-the-world.com, but I'm not sure if I can afford it. After 6 holidays (mostly weekends) last year I promised I was going to do less traveling this year and save some money. This would bring me up to 4 trips for the year...

I would be interested .was there last year and it is savage. It could be difficult to organise for a weekend because everywhere is packed and there is huge que's.I have been there on weekends and during the week and I prefered the weekdays, big crowds but manageable.

    You are so wrong.

    It is Jane's wedding! :D

You will be lucky to be invited - even though you will be expected to be there.

Oh, and don't forget that you need to pay. :p

    I much prefer weekdays.

At least you can get in, and if you are early enough, you can get a place to sit.

Plus, flights and accomodation will be cheaper in the week.

    Piffle!

You are getting married, which means you will be having a stag do.

Simply combine your stag do with this weekend, and you will satisfy all requirements, earn kudos with your peers, and save yourself from my scorn for a period of no less than one calendar year.

    There will be beer.

If I didn't work in education, I would be so there.

I wonder if I can change the academic calendar?

    Hmmmmmmmm.........

Just make the mid-term break work for you ... if you can swing the dates for an entire institution, just so you can get some beer, how cool would that be?

I'm going to subscribe to this thread as the idea intrigues me. I would love to do a proper Oktoberfest.

    Bad news:

Due to lack of finance, and my desire for a new motorbike, this trip has been postponed.

    :(:o:eek::confused:

I will try again next year.
