Hey guys, so a group of us cant afford the usual j1 or interrailing summer and we need to get out of ireland, just wondering if any of you have some ideas of where we could go instead??

Edinburgh has been suggested but just wondering if anyone has done this previously and what the job situation is??

Any other suggestions would be great.

    Thanks in advance :)

I'm in the same boat, can't afford a J1 so we want to go somewhere else but don't know where...

We spent last summer in Edinburgh and i couldn't recommend it highly enough. If you go early,as in before June, getting a job shouldn't be a big problem if you really try hard enough. We stayed in a hostel for the summer and made so many friends there-full of irish people too! There's plenty to visit and do as well as the fringe festival which takes place in the month of august. The streets are mobbed throughout august and there are so many comedy gigs, plays and music-some free, some for a very reasonable price, so you won't be bored!

If you want anymore info feel free to pm me
