Buying a House Hypothetically

I was thinking about this last night as the Euromillions was €15 million
If I were lucky enough to win that kind of money first thing i'd want to do is buy a new house
    BUT
If you wanted to keep your winnings a secret is there a way of doing this?

I'm thinking that I'd get a solicitor from outside my area to handle the conveyancing
    BUT
Can you exchange contracts without the seller finding out the buyer's name and address?

    Just curious
I haven't won the lotto or anything but I was dreaming about it last night :D

You could set up a company and buy it through the company.

YOu can conceal your identity as purchaser by having your solicitor purchase in trust for you.

However the Revenue at stamping stage will require full disclosure of identity ( and PPS number ) of person for whom the solicitor it purchasing.

I think the OP is thinking more about keeping his winnings secret from the neighbours than the Revenue and anyway lottery winnings are tax-free so the taxman wouldn't be a problem.

This is what I was getting at
Wasn't sure if this was possible in Ireland

Setting up a company would only hide your ID for a while as the CRO website publish the names of company directors

I guess if I was going the whole hog I'd have to buy cars with tinted rear windows and a chauffeur so my neighbours wouldn't ever see me
I wonder how people who actually do win massive amounts on the lotto manage to keep it quiet

    Anyway, i can dream :D
Thanks nuac for answering my question
