Flat loops from south Dublin

    Anyone have any good flat routes from south Dublin? Riding in the hills is fun but not so good for a steady, consistent workout. I hear toward Blessington might be one possibility -- what's it like for traffic volume and lights?

    I really don't enjoy the trudge through Tallaght and up the embankment, but it''s the only route really.

    Once out there, instead of the N81 you can head up into Rathcoole and up through Newtown here will reward you with quieter roads.

    You have to head west! Tallaght - Saggart - Newcastle - Celbridge and then you're into the very flatlands of Kildare with a very extensive network of quiet country lanes.

    I'm looking for a 90ish minute loop to do after work so out to Howth isn't really far enough on its own. I don't really want to ride up and down it, particularly as it's quite stop/start on the cycle path and a fairly dodgy/busy road. Very flat though!
