need help to change NAT type 3 to 2 or one on Vodafone

I recently changed my broadband to vodafone from eircom previously, whe i was with eircom i had serious trouble trying to change my nat typre from 3 to 2 or 1 and i found a discussion on boards about it, someone posted custom setting on how to change it and they worked perfectly for the netopia router i have, but when i changed to vodafone all of those settings dont work anymore since i changed and now im stuck with nat type 3 and its driving me nuts! I cant find anything on the internet about changing and after ringing vodafone a few times about it im starting to lose faith in them since they had no idea what i was talking about, can anyone help me at all!?

Did you not get a new router with vodafone ? When i changed from Eircom they gave me a new router and i had NAT 2 without changing anything.

no im still using the netopia router with eircom written on it, which makes even less sense! what router did you get? did you have to ask for a new one or?

you will have to change the settings in modem for the vodafone network.Diffferent username/password probably

No when i was changing over they asked me did i want one, its a bewan i think.
You should give them a ring and ask for one see what they say.

Right i gave them a buzz an they said they'll send me out a new router, do i need to open any ports when i get it or can i get straight into gaming?

Should be fine for most games. The only exception I had was with black ops where i was getting moderate instead of open NAT.
But if you go to the router home page you can put your PS3 in a DMZ which seems to sort that out.
