    this has probably been asked before but do you need a passport to fly from ireland to england and back the same day

    Only on ryanair but you do need photo ID on other airlines.

    You do not need a passport for Travel between the Ireland & the UK if you are travelling by ferry or are flying on BMI or Aer Lingus. You do however need a passport for every single flight if you are flying with Ryanair. And they do not accept Driving licences for any flight, having stopped accepting them around 2006 sometime.
