Worth a watch. He kind of had the world at his feet eh? Very rare to see a darts player peak so early. It's sad that he stopped being able to compete so long ago. He's still in his earlys 50's.

So I've heard yes. But you go on about it like it's a cancer. At the end of the day it's a mythical 'illness'. Every player that loses form these days claims 'dartitis' . Getting silly really. I loved Bristows action.

I hope you never get it then, and its a problem that exists in all sports that require close hand eye co ordination. Probably must studied by golf players (the yips in putting)and its worth reading golf books on the matter if u ever get them.

Surely a sports psychologist could have sorted this for him. Other players have had it come back better than before.

Sorry but I cant have this. It's all psychological.

What are you a Scientologist ?
If any top player had a throwing style that would bring on the yips it was Bristows, terrible technique with so much movement in the fingers, wrist and forearm.

And what are you a doctor ? You're certainly no linguist as I don't know what this terrible yips disease is.

minty have a read of these because you are talking complete bollox

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yips

    http://www.yipshelp.com/

    http://www.golf-mental-game-coach.com/cure-the-yips.html

Google the yips or dartitis and you will get thousands of sites explaining what the condition is and how to get over it.

Yes it is psychological but how that lessens the condition in any way I will never know. Anyone who plays darts will tell you that it's very much a mental game and dartitis can affect anyone at any time.

Educate yourself on the condition before coming on here and belittling it.

Im no linguist because you don't know what the yips is ? seriously did you even google it and attempt to understand what I was saying.
Well I never said its a disease so i would suggest you do a bit of research before making comments about a subject you clearly know nothing about

I was more playing on the fact that I seriously doubt you would find it in a dictionary, or any medical handbooks for that matter, and thus I doubt the credibility of it. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Thanks King, this guy is a troll as if he bothered he could find a wealth of information online about yips/dartitis etc

Nothing to do with darts. 'Dartitis' is a mythical condition that should be known as 'loss of form' and should be rectified by psychological methods or practice. It is nothing even slightly medical, and has nothing to with golf or 'the yips' as you suggest. I thought I had a bout of 'dartitis' once, well I knew something was wrong. Then I copped onto life , start practicing more and releasing the dart properly. No need to get your head/arm in a twist if you ask me. Get on with it, Darts is far from a science.

You are so wrong its hard to believe, that you cant see that yips/dartitis are one and the same. It happens in every sport requiring precise motor skills in pressure situations Now stop being a troll and do some research before you profess to being a know it all.

Minty you really haven't got a clue. There is absolutely no debate here, you couldn't be more wrong.

In fact I have given you indefinite proof of dartitis and you continue to post complete and utter bollox which leads me to believe you are a troll because no one can be this ignorant.

Thread locked before I lose my patience with minty.
