Joining Ryan Tubridy on tonight's Late Late Show is Northern Ireland's Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness.

Other guests confirmed for the show are Kathryn Thomas and the five 'Operation Transformation' leaders, plus Frank McNamara and Theresa Lowe, who will talk about their successful marriage.

Also 'Louis Walsh et al', whatever that means

Was just about to post this. Just saw this on RTE.ie, who are these two? Regular Joes who have a successful marriage??

Frank is a musician who used to work on the LLS, Theresa Lowe is an ex-RTÉ presenter (Where in the World is probably her best known work)

So it seems TLLS have now exited the bottom of the barrel.

If I wanted to learn how to eat an orange I would have taken the orange eating class.

pathetic but not unexpected from The worst talkshow host in the history of Television TM

I wonder will this media appearance by Frank McNamara be the start of his campaign to run for office again.. He ran at the last election and lost.. Be interested to see how Teresa's aged all the same...

I had a big "Where In The World" crush when I was younger.

I would normally record it so I can fast forward the bits I'm not interested in but this weeks show isn’t even worth using the record button.

On the Late Late Show tonight.NI Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, Kathryn Thomas and the Op Transformation leaders,Louis Walsh et al

Not sure what he means by 'Louis Walsh et al'. Jedward or Westlife? It's a full week since someone from Boyzone was on.

Frank McNamara and Theresa Lowe, who will talk about their successful marriage.

Does this mean that we can now say that the LLS is officially on the same level as Hello magazine? All that'll be missing is a kitchen set.

What a waste of a Friday evening.....watch RTE$ croonies pat each other on the back !! Do they have a system whereby they are queuing for a coffee in the staff canteen and run into some auld RTE face and say "what you doing on Friday nite...fancy being on the telly??" It makes me puke to watch it...

OR... is there a high level Memo telling Tubs that whoever has a new show (I suppose that is why K. Thomas is on tonite)...let them get a MASSIVE plug for it on your show.

And Tuberty makes all teh worse by fiddling with those prompt cards....but the wife loves him!! Bring back serious LLS topics...like how to use a condom!!

I'll be watching a repeat of Morse /Frost or even that brillent Wallander (the swedish version) on my freeview in the Kitchen.

The LLS stooping to a new low.

Its like every guest dropped out at the last minute and DLB raced to the RTE canteen to grab people at the first table he saw...

Shocking, shocking stuff. It'll get huge ratings as usual cos the country is broke. And DLB will, as usual, think its all down to him with his wit, pesonality, awesome interviewing skills, etc. etc...:rolleyes:

Was just thinking, that that is the only reason anyone watches this.

The Coronas are on if you are interested.

Amusing to twitter Late Late Show, see if you can guess which tweets refer to the Irish show and the US show of nearly the same name.

have a look at Louis Walshs eyes tonight when he's on, he had them done (botox or whatever) he looks ridiculous

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,089 ✭✭✭✭hotmail.com

    Martin McGuinness!!! Why!

Politics should be left out of the LLS, Tubridy has shown that he can't be impartial.

    Big time!!

Its a perfect opportunity for DLB to do the old rapid fire question routine with politicians that are not Fianna Fail.

Cue a lot of the famous Tubridy interrupting and grunting in their direction, with that really strange and creepy high pitched canine yelp that he does when he gets REALLY excited...while of course gripping on to his cue-cards for dear life.

Why can't something like this happen to Ryan "Tintin" Tubridy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 566 ✭✭✭SB-08

People need to stop watching this rubbish and then and only then will some bloody effort be put into the guests and perhaps at the stretch Tubs might do some research and try and improve himself as an interviewer. The bloody Daily Show gets better guests FFS!

Not until the people with the ratings boxes stop watching, as the average Joe switching off will not affect them one jot.
I think most of the ratings boxes are provided free of charge to nursing homes and mental institutions.

Yea I know, Tubs fits all the criteria too:

    1. Insufferable - CHECK

    2. Arsehole - CHECK

    3. Piece of sh*t - CHECK

He's also witless, uncharasmatic, boring and infuriating...to name but a few.

Key problem with the LLS is it's length - over two hours, so they need to pad it out with rubbish guests.

In fairness to Tubridy, I think I heard he wanted to show to be shortened to 90 minutes, but the producers refused.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Last year I said 60 mins of straightfoward "entertainment" would be the programmes best hope except that the hordes continue to watch 2.10-2.20 mins of turgid nonsense so RTE is right.

That's a fair point, 90 minutes would be plenty but it's dragged out to get extra advertising revenue.

Tubridy Tonight worked much better: 3 guests, faster pace, less RTE staffers as guests and less stories about terminal illnesses.

I think they've covered every possible illness at this stage, it's getting ridiculous and is like a characterture now.

I listened to Graham Norton being interviewed by Pat Kenny on the radio a while ago and he said 30 minutes was enough for a talk show.
