pregnant ex wants to leave country

    this is awful stuff but if anyone could reply asap its be greatly appreciated

    my ex is 3 months pregnant and is going for a scan 2moro to see if she can go have an abortion. Thats fine i can accept that. But she says if they wont let her go for one she is gonna leave the country with her ex in a month anyway to raise the baby somewhere else.

    first off after 3 months is there a chance that they wouldnt let her go over?

    secondly is it legal for her to leave pregnant with my child?

    what an awful situation :(

    Fathers do not have many constitutionally enshrined legal rights in Ireland so I wouldn't be too optomistic OP. I would advise you to visit a solicitor to ascertain how you may proceed. Good Luck and my sympathies.

    What's the reason for being reasonable?

    Is that an unreasonable question?

    Thanks, thought that might be the case, i will get onto a solicitor if she doesn't have an abortion and just do whatever i can.

    Yes it is legal for her to leave the country pregnant.

    Yes they can abort after three months.

    Hi OP, from yout post its not clear if you dont want her to have an abortion or not. From a legal point of view there is nothing you can do to stop her travelling to England. BTW who do you mean by "they wouldn't let her go over"? If you are happy to have a role in the child's life then even though you are her ex you should say this to her, at least she will know that before she does anything.

    she got the go ahead to have abortion so thats the end of it anyway bar a last minute freak out

    she knew id be there for her and the baby but it didnt suit for various reasons, thanks anyway
