    NEW GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING AIR CORPS. Col Paul Fry has been appointed General Officer Commanding the Air Corps. He takes up the appointment vacated by Major General James on his promotion to Deputy Chief of Staff (Ops) on 26th July 2010. Brig Gen Fry has extensive experience of the full range of Air Corps operations including SAR, Helicopter Ops, Air Ambulance and Maritime Patrol, as well as extensive instructional experience.
    Born in 1956, Brig Gen Fry was educated in Sutton Park School, Howth. He was awarded his military pilots wings and commissioned as a pilot officer in 1976. Brig Gen Fry has served in a wide variety of Command and Staff appointments during his career and has served overseas with the UN in the Western Sahara.
    Married with three children, he lives in Firhouse, Co. Dublin.
    As GOC AC, Brig Gen Fry will also fulfill the role of 'Director of irish Military Aviation'
