Why do some people feel the need to respond to posts with rude and derogatory comments such as "what a load of crap, or "what a load of rubbish, is this down to a lack of intelligence in that they cant quite find the words to express how they feel about the subject in hand ? its something that the mods on boards seem to ignore or maybe because it happens so much they just dont notice it anymore. either way when a poster replies with such a response something should be done about it, ignorance is not an excuse if someone were to speak like that to your face what would you do ?
Some posts deserve a curt reply - for example the one about women only being responsible if they get pregnant and men shouldn't have to pay maintenance. Some people write odious sh1t like that and worse, and the stuff they write deserves every bit of abuse it gets.

Im sure you are right I have the feeling that the mods arent too fond of me anyway due to my previous post. although if Im banned at this stage it would add weight to my previous debate on do mods abuse their power.
I've a feeling the mods don't care either way (you're actually not that important to them?) and lose the victim complex - you won't get banned. The myth of mods banning over nonsense like that is... a myth.

This thread is not a shining advertisement of your intellect. I'll give you

OP, I think you won't find a better explanation of how Boards works than this:
go somewhere else if you want polite, we won't change for you, we were here first.

I guess the same applies across the, er, Boards. The difference being that AH is no place to expect much more than rampant ribaldry in response.

isnt it strange how a thread created stating the ignorance of boards users is not closed yet the thread opened giving out about mods was closed. pathetic, you can only post on here what the mods like. whats the point of that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

It wasn't actually giving out about mods - it was asking how to become a mod (complete with snide comments)... and this is the wrong forum for it. There is another thread giving out about mods and it's... open.

its all down to how you word it. if you basically open up saying what assholes you think they are then why should they have to put up with that ? where as if you open it and show both sides to the argument and leave it open to debate it has a better chance at life :D as proven in my previous thread Do mods abuse their power

By the way OP. Ignorance is a state of not knowing either willfully or not. What you are complaining about is lack of manners. To illustrate, not knowing what ignorance means is ignorant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,559 ✭✭✭blaze1

Yup, dont reply to bad threads like this... Join the russian military instead

uninstructed, untutored, untaught. Ignorant, illiterate, unlettered, uneducated mean lacking in knowledge or in training. Ignorant may mean knowing little or nothing, or it may mean uninformed about a particular subject. they are ignorant because they feel the need to respond with a derogatory comment on a subject they know nothing about. why is it people feel the need to argue the point that manners cost nothing ? I would have thought that just goes without saying unless you were dragged up by a pack of animals.

Again, you do realise you are on the internet right? Expecting everyone to be polite is like going to France and expecting all waiters to speak English, which is rude and "ignorant". Therefore you are being rude and ignorant

so because im on the internet I should expect everyone to be rude and uneducated ? im sure that is not the case
