Hey guys, Back in Aug10' i got 2 Peno Points for Speeding.
I Was planning on telling the Insurance Company but
I had forgotten about it due to Personal Problems, until recently in December, when i remembered it.
Now for some reason i was afraid to tell the Insurance then and still am now.

So With my Renewal Coming up in March, If i was to tell them, would they be pissed that i never told them?
Would they Charge me Extra or something?
I Know my Insurance would go up a Bit which is another reason i'm not looking forward to telling them.

Just tell them, they are unlikely to load your new policy for just two points, but better to state it on the renewal than have an accident and them refuse to pay out due to your not telling them.

Dunno man, I'd a claim last year and it never came up, hopefully someone more in the know will come along and let us know.

...and if they found out that you had lied to them when you have to make a claim?

You have two options as far as I can see.

    1. Be a person of integrity

    2. Be a scumbag

2 penalty points make no difference to your insurance, afaik.

    6 in one year? ffs.

either way you are obliged to tell them, ESPECIALLY if you're renewing or taking out a new policy (because if you don't tell them then, the new policy isn't worth a **** as you have provided false information).

And if they ask why i didnt report it in Aug. What do i say? XD

Presumably it never came up because you chose to with-hold the relevant information about the six points.

Let you know what exactly? Do you mean let you know that you have an agreement with your insurer that you are currently in breach of? You know that already, otherwise you'd have told your insurer about the points and wouldn't be playing semantics here.

Your agreement with your insurer, as specified on your original proposal form and as detailed by them in your policy booklet and insurance certificate obliges you to inform your insurer of any material facts that may alter the risk profile of your policy. The requirement is usually that you inform the insurer immediately of any such changes - not at renewal time, not at claim time but immediately. Read the document you completed and read the documents the insurer sent you out. If you don't understand these documents, which doesn't change your obligation in any way incidentally, sit down with someone who does and have them explain to you what you agreed to and what your obligations are.

Your original quotation and current premium are based on a set of facts supplied by you and these have now changed; therefore the likelihood is your premium and / or your level of cover will change. With-holding material facts may invalidate your level of cover or your policy.

By 'more in the know' I assume you mean someone who will tell you what you want to hear? Why bother participating in a forum like this with a blinkered attitude like that, just put your head back in the sand.

I rang One Direct yesterday to report points I picked up in October, and basically got "what the feck are you telling me this for?" from the girl on the phone.

(I was telling her because I just noticed the €2500 excess on claims if you have points but don't inform them).
