Fox cage

Ewes will start lambing shortly and last few years I have lost a couple of lambs to the Fox. I can't get anyone to shoot despite numberous requests.
Ewes normally lamb outside and I then bring the ewe and newly born inside for a few days, put some tar on the lambs and let them out again. The Foxdoesn't have any interest in the lamb with the smell of tar. I find the Fox pounces when lambs are born first.

Anyone any experience of the Fox cage.

Why dont you try the hunting forum here. I would imagine you would have to really need to know your stuff to catch foxes. After you get one the rest wont go near the cage.

What part of the country are you in? As Fastrac says, try the Hunting section for volunteers, most lads there would be happy to help if they're near you.

I've tried fox cages and managed to catch two lambs and a pile of badgers  (all released safely as they're protected).
