Maybe because you got the letter you have mentioned?
'Clue is in the name' kind of thing?
    Or maybe im wrong?

gav2k9 I got that letter also, but have vetting away since July or August I think. Did the PCA last week as my BMI was just over. So can't see that they are waiting until March to start. Did your letter mention any previous campaigns maybe, if as you say you have been through it before?

Did you get any letters relating to previous attempts, dear John or not just yet ones?

i had a med and vetting (which is still on going) away from last here.
had a med for this campaign and vetting away since aug

    No - I's the same.

What was your AC score? Or merit place (rough)

nah guys no mention of being through it all a few times before. just thinking surely i should have heard something about vetting by now although i was in one of the last few AC days completed.

just got the same letter most got a few months ago, basically saying the chief constable was as confused as the rest of us, waiting on budget news and should hear more by march time

wanadrum.. aint a clue what my merit score is but AC was 56

Aye, mine is 55, I think any NRC with less than 58ish has got to wait till march.

I'd guess that you are 300-400 on the merit list

As for as I know and the Mods can correct me if needs be, but you must be vetted and pass medical for the campaign that you are to be accepted from. So for you to be accepted from C16, you will need to pass a medical and vetting for it. If you are unsure ring external appointment. As long as your nice to them they are more then helpful at answering questions. In fact I feel sorry for them cos I am sure they get loads of people on the phone who are rude but, they have been more than nice to me! But I think thats your best bet if your really not sure.

I would say more like - any NRC less than 57 got a wait to march letter.

I got 57 and I'm <300 on the merit list, and recieved the progressing letter.

Im fairly sure you only get your IST score if you fail it at the time?

    Could be wrong.

yes, the written, the role plays, the situational interview as i have the last 5 times ive applied.

i remember this campaign clearly as i had to go see metallica with a tension headache lol

I would write to them and ask them to check - it would appear that us NRC with 54-57 in the AC got wait till march letters and 58+ have been vetted/medical.

Nothing to lose if you ask them to check.

    thanks wanadrum!

im a bloody eejit! i keep all my letters until the new campaign letters start coming in and i must have threw out this years a/c report instead of last years! 53 in this campaign, 58 in last campaign which i did get vetted and invited to a medical but due to some circumstances i wasnt able to attend.

at least we have cleared up that i can count...i just cant tell the date haha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 684 ✭✭✭wanadrum

That is pants not being able to attend medical - you'd probably have been in by now as an nrc friend of mine got in from C14-C15 with AC score of 52.

yeah i was gutted, but circumstances were beyond my control. and i do remember thinking "yeah this might be my time" because i thought i had failed the IST miserably that campaign, i was actually chuckeling into myself during it, thinking it was that bad! but i passed, then did well at the A/C, got my vetting sent away, got a med date then BOOM!

I bet you were - I think that would dishearten even the most resiliant of applicants.
