make dvd region free

    after some googling i cant seam to find anything useful for my dvd drive its locked to region 2 and i need to free it up

    if anyone could shed some light on it or point me in the right direction it would be great

    its an asus with xp pro and the drive is matsh ita dvd-ram uj-860s

    when i put a disk in nothing happens at all

    Download VLC player. It ignores region codes.

    DVD43 is also free and runs in the background making any disk look like it's region free, so can be accessed by any program.

    This is the first i'd heard of it tbh! Sounds great. Although I honestly couldn't tell you the last time a disk has gone into my dvd drive!

    Thats true I used to use it to convert other region DVD's to Region 2 using that and DVDShrink.

    thanks for the answers lads

    but its not a software issue im in Oz and when you put the disk in nothing happens it wont play, spin up or anything

    the drive is fine as it plays irish dvds i need something to free the region on the drive its self
