I have an 05 car that has not been tested as yet (I'm going to get it done in the next few weeks). Just wondering how long (assuming a pass) until it will be due to be tested again - will the fact that it should by law have been tested in '09 effect this?

Yes - it will be next due on its 6th birthday regardless of when you do it before then

i believe if its left lapse for 18 months after its original due date, then a new disc will be issued.

(not 100% its 18 months, but something along those lines)
