could be worms not sure but if its something contagious i'd pull his neck just in case he passes it on to the rest of the flock

why would you need to do that, fairly poor advice, anyone withn poultry should be worming them every so often, best thing to do is move him somewhere on his own for a few days, if it is worms try a bottle of verm-x, a few small drops in the water for 3 days every month

Could also be pneumonia developing due to the recent bad weather. The boys tend to try and carry on as normal and neglect themselves. Baytril oral usually helps if things haven't got too bad.

Sorry to hear about both the duck and the little fella.

To be honest I'm not surprised about the cock. Usually with both poultry and waterfowl by the time you notice something's wrong it's often too late.
The boys especially are brilliant at putting a good front on and I know myself that, although I'm not in your area (somebody wish me there please) I've had to have eyes in the back of my head this winter.

Best thing to do is stand and watch for a few minutes every time you feed them. Anybody failing to eat even for a morning, or worse, the ones that start shaking their heads after they've taken in a bit of food or water, are best put somewhere warm and quiet and started on antibiotics. If it is pneumonia then usually they start picking up within 24-36 hours but aren't fit to go back into the crowd for at least a week.

I think although sheep seem to have managed this winter very well, the birds haven't faired as good - to be honest I know how they feel.
