what to bring on a j1?

    Besides the obvious, passport, money etc.. what exactly should you bring with u for the summer ? the usual things needed for a sun holiday or should u just buy everything over there? knowing me il do both:p but just wondering..

    hoping to get to there this summer and would appreciate any advice on what to bring aswell as what not to bring ! thanks :D
    also would yeh recommend bringing your laptop?? :confused:

    It depends. Do you have a job sorted? If so, you should be able to buy most clothes when you arrive. If you don't have a job sorted, you don't want to get stuck without some! If there are a few of you, I would recommend bringing one laptop between you. Internet cafes can become tiresome, and don't seem to be as popular as they used to be. There's free wifi in so many places too!

    Make sure to bring some plug converters for all your irish stuff. Don't buy them in the airport, I find they're usually much much more expensive there.

    Bring a professional outfit too, for interviews, work etc.

    Most other stuff you'll probably end up buying here. I will advise though, that everything you bring, make sure anything valuable doesn't leave your sight. Be extra extra careful with your passport, money and laptop (if you bring one).
