I could have sworn there was a thread on this already but search yielded no results so.....

It's the new film from John Cameron Mitchell of Shortbus and Hedwig and the Angry Inch fame. It stars Aaron Eckhart and Nicole Kidman as married couple grieving the loss of their 4 year old son.

    Trailer:

I just watched this tonight. Have to say its probably the most honest, moving and downright emotional film I've seen in quite some time. I think there's been a little bit of oscar buzz about it, both leads as well as Diane Wiest give award worthy performances here and I think both the screenplay and direction also deserve any and every plaudits they get.To make a film about dealing with loss this watchable is no mean feat. Don't get me wrong it is heavy and incredibly heartbreaking but there is also moments of great beauty and even humour in here and you won't walk away from it feeling depressed.

I watched both this and Black Swan today and they're both films of a similar calibre but for me this wins out, it just feels so real and much more human, a beautiful film.

It's a great film, really moving but wont be to everyones taste. It's very slow but couldn't find a fault with it. All the performances are excellent especially the teenage boy (cant remember his name!)
