Intermittent problems with Sky+HD box

My parents have Sky+HD installed, they've had it for about 18 months now. They're starting to have trouble with the box - randomly shutting off, not responding to remote commands, not powering on, random breakup in the picture despite a good signal. It also takes about 3 or 4 minutes to boot after a power cycle.

The thing is, it's a Thomson box so I'm beginning to think it's the PSU. Are these symptoms consistent with a PSU fault? I've no experience with the HD boxes so don't really know what to look for.

It's almost certainly the usual Thomson PSU fault.

Easy to fix if you can solder. Otherwise get an exchange PSU fitted.
