    Hi all,

I'm interested in studying family law for my own curiousity/knowledge more than anything. Bar just going to a library and reading up on it is there any worthwhile courses out there (distance learning or web based).

Also what books would be best to cover this particular topic?

    Regards
    Ronan

Alan Shatter, originally appeared to the the most authorative writer, but his last book is circa 1997, not completetely outdated so worth looking at. It appears people like Geoffery Shannon has taking over the mantle. Jim Nestor has a couple of books too. Most of these books could be found in descent libraries, as reference books. (eg Illac SC) . The court service have a magazine in family law matters , that can be got on their website. If you have access to a college/uni which does law, the library will/should have a subscription to the various family law journals, or , if you had access to the fee paying legal sites you can get them artilces there.

Check out independent colleges and griffith
