    Hi all,

I have this annoying problem with my iphone4. Whenever it is connected to my home WiFi network, the phone internet is quite slow. - Particularly YouTube .. which is almost unuseable, it wont buffer or takes ages to buffer and then times out.

Strange thing is, if i turn wifi off and use the phones 3G connection it works lightning fast.

Dont think its an issue with my Wifi because it works perfectly on my laptop, xbox etc

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Give the Cache a clean and see if that helps a bit.

Try changing the channel on your Wi-Fi modem/router, if it's set to Auto try using 6 or 7 and see if it makes any difference. You will not need to change setting on any of your other devices as they will still pick up the router no problem.

I just installed a new UPC BB modem, the Wi-Fi channel was set to Auto and always used channel 1, I couldn't access Wi-Fi unless I was in the same room, then I manually changed the channel to 6 and all is now well.

just did some Googling there. Seems to be quite a common complaint!

Apparently because the iphone 4 has a full HD retina display, when trying to view youtube videos, by default it tries to load the Highest quality HD version of that video so thats why its slow - and it doesnt give you an option to view lower quality videos ... which is a bit stupid really.

Also, it could be that your wireless signal is poor. Maybe try upgrading your wireless router if possible.
