08 toyota yaris

    looking for some advice on buying an 08 toyota yaris for the missus,what would be a good price to pay for one of these?seem quite expensive compared to other small hatchbacks,are they worth the extra?is there any other car/cars i should be considering?tks.

    No, they are 100% not worth the extra.

    They sell for more because Irish people have blind devotion to Toyota, in the same people used to have blind devotion to Fianna Fáil. Reliability is something that is far from exclusive to Toyota, and there are much better cars on sale than the Yaris anyway!

    Just about anything else out there is a better car than the Yaris - the Corsa is quite a nice car for instance, as is the Fiesta. The Skoda Fabia is nice too, if a little dull. The Mazda 2 is also a good little car, as are the Seat Ibiza and Peugeot 207.

    thanks captainspeed,yea will try an steer the missus away from the yaris,she likes the peugeot 207 but there 1.4lt,would prefer a 1.0-to 1.2 lt if possible,any links to a good bargain would be great.we have a budget of 7500euro.

    My sister bought a 2008 Ford Fiesta 1.25 litre Steel II last July and paid €7400 for it. I'd imagine you would buy one now for less than that. Great little car and it was one of the run out models before the new one arrived meaning it had toys as standard that you would not normally see in this class of car.
