Getting rid of pigeons

i have a problem with pigeons perching and dirting my calving house.

Any solutions for getting rid of them??? Shooting is out of the question due to cows/cattle nearby and poison is illegal of course. Beside its too indiscriminate and down right dangerous to the other animals/ birds around.

I don't need to kill them, just scare them away from their current house.There are approx 30 birds involved.

some people say a peaker playing the sound of a hawk will scare them, but i know a man that got one and it worked great for two days then the birds copped on and took no notice of it.. what part of the country are you

Located in West Cork, no hawks around here- just a few Kestrels!!!

These birds are not your usual wood pigeon- they appear to be a cross between a homing & your plain wild ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might be worth a gander over to the shooting forum, you could get somone with an air rifle to pop out and shoot a couple. That might be enough to move most of the pigeons on. Should be safe on the cows and quite quiet.

Check out any local falconers, some would have birds - usually harris hawks - that can take pigeons in sheds at night using a lamp.
A combination of hawk and air rifle is very effective for the job.
