2g iphone 3.0.1, locked etc

    I update my 2g Iphone today to version 3.0.1, Now I cannot get into my phone, I dnt know how to unlock or jailbreak it, I've tried all day just cannot do it. can any1 help or tell me where i can get it unlocked etc. Thanx

    How exactly are you locked out of your phone? will it boot up and allow you to navigate through the phone? is their no coverage?

    I went into Itunes and updated it to 3.0.1 wen I updated it there was only a picture (the usb with an arrow poinying up Itunes with a disc) it said in the centre of the ph no sim card installed, insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate ph. , at the bottom it said slide for emergency calls only. I went back into itunes and rebooted it to factory settings but its still the same. So now wen I download redsnow 2g 3.o and firmware I just cant seem to finish it. Thank you for the reply just feel sick as its my sons ph.

    ah right. its in recovery mode. You simply install a simcard that was originally intended for the phone. what network was the phone on from the factory? it'll probably be o2 so if you stick an o2 sim in it and restart it.
    You might also be able to get around it with something like tinyumbrella to kick it out of recovery, but its a long time since i worked with 2g phones so i cant really remember all that much about them.

    Thank you for the quick reply, I had bought the ph over a year ago off boards so it was unlocked to anysim wen I bought it. Do you think will b a problem to jailbreak??
