What would be the hip-hop equivalent of the metal bands' big 4? Who would you like to see tour together? My choice is Public Enemy/EPMD/Cypress Hill/Nas. Any others?

right now and the last year or so if you were to going by buzz i reckon,

    eminem,jay z,lil wayne (cringe),kanye west.

my all time top 4 a bit predictable but arguably have had the biggest impact and success aswell as being some of my favorites.

    biggie,2pac,eminem,jay z.

although Nas has been out ages, I dont think the material he puts out over his last few efforts is worthy of him been in a top 4 bracket, we all know he had one classic and a great album in doo rags but he's had countless ordinary to bad albums, I do like nas but he's fell off years ago if we are going to be honest and isn't relevant anymore, his album titles get more attention than his music but thats just my opinion.

Well If like the metal lineup you're talking about a kind of hall of fame of hip hop sharing a stage NWA/Public Enemy/Cypress Hill/Wu Tang i would imagine. Throw enough money at them and it'd probably happen (minus Easy E of course). I'd def pay to see that.

2pac, 2pac, 2pac and 2pac. You could multitrack him or use some sort of dna spicing to resurrect and clone him.

Anybody else sick of these retarded best of all time topics with tiny differences. Just sticky one and move everything there.

Is there any chance a Mod could ban this guy? He does nothing but come on here and troll about 2pac. If you don't have something worthwhile to contribute, then don't post!

Reminds me of a PE gig I was at where Flava Flav was on lock down for lack of child supports or some ish, anyway, all his bits were on DAT and they had him in the visuals. Like a virtual Flav I guess?

The big four of hip hop changes as it evolves. If you asked someone in 1985 who their top four where some of the mcs might be considered weak by todays standards.

Nas is the GOAT. Hes miles ahead of Jay-Z and biggie. 2pac shouldnt even be in the top four. He wasnt the best mc by a long stretch

its raps biggest 4 not the best mc's.

Nas isnt the GOAT there is a fair who are well ahead of him both as an mc and on a commercial front.

im a nas fan a big fan but if your honest to yourself you will know he has fallen off a long time ago.

biggie and jay z have had a lot more impact than Nas in hip hop and thats a fact and would be considered by most people ahead of nas.

Name one rapper who is a more complete mc than nas.

I know hes fallen off. This happens to every rapper. Jay-Z fell off after the black album. Biggie only made two albums with one being a classic.

i dont think nas is a complete mc mate, he is great at making deep songs with deep lryics but can he switch it up is what im saying maybe he can but i dont think he does it enough, you know what your going to get with nas every album 2 or 3 class songs and then rubbish for the rest.

id put Rakim ahead of him anyday.

thats my point nas has fallen off and he has fallen of a long time ago thats why i dont think he is in raps big 4.

I've more to contribute than the same best of all time lists week in week out. Honestly we have one every week for the last 6 years (I used post under a different name)

Ranking rappers in lists is the stupidest thing ever. It's like having an argument about what the best colours are blue, purple, yellow or orange? Well which is it? Who gives a feck. They're artists. You're going to like one more than the other. It can't be quantified. Depends what you're into.

Trolling is badly needed if it gets people off talking about the same 5 rappers year in year out.

I'd probably drop Cypress Hill for either the Beastie Boys or Run DMC to be honest

Exactly the same thing for Eminem and Jay-Z.

I love cypress hill but run dmc has to have a place in the top 4 groups.

yes but eminem and jay z have stayed in the top 4 bracket thats the difference, nas hasn't.

if you ask most people who are raps big 4 at the moment or overall, eminem and jay z are almost always mentioned they have achieved the most along with pac and biggie.

now if you were to go by rappers skills as an mc it might be different because jay z and pac are not the most lryical of mc's, maybe then you could fit nas into that bracket but then again id put big L and rakim ahead of him there aswell as eminem and biggie.
