Wow a bit of justice at last.....

The WBC has ordered a rematch between light-heavyweight champion Jean Pascal and veteran Bernard Hopkins.
Champion Pascalspacer.gif retained the belt after being handed a controversial majority draw following their December 18 bout, a decision 45-year-old Hopkinsspacer.gif called 'robbery'.
Pascal had been under contract to give Chad Dawsonspacer.gif a rematch after a similarly controversial stoppage win earlier in 2010, but WBC president Jose Sulaiman said Hopkins must be given another shot first.
"The WBC board of governors has voted in favor of ordering the immediate rematch," Sulaiman said in a letter to both camps.
"The winner of this fight has the obligation to fight Chad Dawson immediately without any intervening contest."
Hopkins, who turns 46 later this month, was delighted with the news.
"I would like to thank Jose Sulaiman and the WBC board of governors for ordering an immediate rematch between Pascal and I," Hopkins said.
"This is a great thing for boxing and hopefully fans will get to see another great fight with Pascal and I. I'm looking forward to starting off the New Year by making history as the oldest athlete to win a major championship in any sport."
Hopkins' and Pascal's promoters have 30 days to reach a deal or a purse bid will be ordered.

Holy sanctioning fees batman!!! Pascal is contracted to fight Dawson belts or no belts unless he will accept step aside money, but will pascal go out of his way to fight b-hop?
Id say Hopkins will fight for the vacant belt and Pascal-Dawson will be for the interim with the winner ordered to fight Hopkins. Anything else would make too much sense in boxing.

I thought Calzaghe just about beat him, Hopkins schooled Pascal, but I could see the reasoning in the judges cards considering the knockdowns.

    Great fight regardless

The first knockdown should not have been ruled as such. Anyway regardless of the knockdowns, Hopkins should have been declared the winner.
Dawson's people won't agree to this, so the likely outcome is Pascal and Dawson squaring off with Hopkins fighting the winner. I think Dawson will defeat Pascal comprehensively second time around.

So do i especially seen as Steward has taken over as Dawsons trainer.

I too thought Hopkins deserved the decision irrespective of the knockdowns, however I'm sick of people falling for the ex-con's cheating, whinging and incessant whining. I have looked at the first knockdown over and over again and it is perfectly legitimate. The punch was NOT to the back of the head - it was at worst slightly behind the ear / on the ear, but of course the cheat in Hopkins came out again and he tried to influence the ref and unfortunately a lot of people fell for it.

If he hadn't whined about it there would have been very little said about it after.

From one grumpy old man to another - SHUT THE F*CK UP BERNIE !!

I feel Pascal loses to either Hopkins or Dawson if he fights either again.

Agreed it's highly possibly Dawson just had a bad night, I think with a new trainer he'll beat Pascal but it won't be a walkover by any means

Yeah Dawson def could have had a bad nite Pascal was tiring and only for the cut I think Dawson would have let fly in the last round.

BHop is the craftiest boxer out there and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the decision next time
