I lived in Corrib last year and to be honest it was the best year of my life, I'd reccomend it to every 1st year out there! True their prices are astronomical (but so are most student accomadations) and the infamous "Hag of Mythical proportions", Maire Bríd, can get on your nerves, but none the less I think it's the best place for first years as you literally get to know everybody in such a short amount of time, and there's no chance of you ending up living on your own with a couple of 3rd years as it's 1st years only.

Now true, it does get wild, but in all fairness it's college, and it's galway!
