Kirwan Street bus stop (Dublin)?

Looked at Google Street View and it's still there, now a blue pole with the Dublin Bus logo on top. It's been there for as long as I can remember, but there never has been a bus service on that street (between Manor Street and Grangegorman Lower, across from Manor Place). When I was younger, I thought it might have been part of the route 72 service, but when I started to get the Ordnance Survey maps, no such routing via Kirwan Street was on there. No provincial bus service that I was aware of ran there either.

    School services.

I've looked at other sites that have also mentioned the "school services" matter, but this stop seems to be unique; never saw its like anywhere else in the city, so if there's any other location with such a stop, I'd like to know. And I used to have relatives that lived in the area that I visited frequently, and never saw any school service using that stop. Any more details? because I've never seen any in the Dublin District timetables in the past, nor do I see any on the DB web site.

If I remember correct, there used to be daily departures from here on the Navan Road routes. It may have been in the timetable, but a lot of the school services were also locally arranged.

I'm not sure if the stop is still in use, but all school services are now outsourced so it's unlikely to be listed in the timetable, although Dublin Bus do issue tickets for these services.

I used to get the 'school special', as the destination board said, from this stop back in the late 1960's when I attended Stanhope Street school, the bus was Broadstone based and made it's way to Kirwan Street via the then two-way North Brunswick Street and Lower Grangegorman, looking at those streets now I don't know how the driver ever negotiated them.
The terminus at that time was Villa Park Gardens and the bus travelled via Prussia Street and the Old Cabra Road before turning left at Cabra garda station and on to Blackhorse Avenue. We always thought the conductor was a teacher because he always seemed so strict. :)

There's an unused bus stop here on Gilford Road ... I was there in the Summer of 2010 and the bus stop was still there in old cityswift livery. Anybody know if this stop was used by a particular route?
I saw that stop too. It was certainly never used by the 52, which went from the city centre to Gilford Park, or the 2 when it took over for the 52 when that route was changed into a DART feeder route running from Sydney Parade to Lower Kilmacud Road via Belfield.

There's also a bus stop in Sandymount on Park Avenue, just north of Park Lane. Some Google Street View photos show it with a bus stop sign atop, while some show it removed. I don't see any indication that the 2 runs on Park Avenue between Sandymount Green and St. John's Church, so that one's making me wonder as well.

The Park Avenue stop is for the school down there I was often on the duty on the no.03 that used to operate via Park Avenue. Don't know if it still does since it moved to Ringsend.
