Does anyone know any online search sites for Irish geneology before the 1901 census. Otherwise where do I go to trace records before then.

Have you read the sticky at the top of the forum? It explains what to do.

Yeh I looked at it...There's not much though up there than can help me research pre-1901.

Griffiths Valuations if you family were land owners or tenets.

Parish records available online for a lot of counties (though €5 per record usually).

beta.familysearch.org is a great little site also.

Well, as Ponster pointed out, there's quite a lot in there. Not everything's online - if you want to do the work and get the answers, you have to hit the repositories eventually.
