I am looking to install a new 300l copper cylinder tank, i have oil heating and back boiler, i was going to have installed a twin coil but now I am going to have a solar system installed at a later stage how should i work this, can i still us a twin coil and have a valve put on to switch between heating sources or am i better going triple coil?

also say in down the line deciced to install a gas/pellet boiler along side the oil heating what would be the best way to install the new tank now to have those option later with having to put a new tank in again?

    cheers

Well worth doing your own research and pricing on this, there are so many varieties out there. You will need a seperate coil for the solid fuel and solar so you are looking at a three coil minimum but some solar cylinders have a remarkably low heat loss that out performs lagged copper cylinders.

Definitely you need a triple coil Cylinder. It will cost you as much for the controls etc to use a twin coil and will still not be as good a setup.

Tripple coil stainless steel. Forget copper and if you insist make sure its 40psi at least. There is a lot of 20 out there and i would not be happy in this installiation

Install a thermal store and leave all your options open.

i have also been looking at a stainless steel tank which means the sysms then is a pressuired system i think? what is the pros and cons between an open and pressuired system? I have an open system at the minute is there much involved changing it to a pressuired system?

    cheers
