Hey guys having an electrical problem at the moment. Hoping someone might have an idea what is causing it. Basicaly I was driving home and I noticed that the illunination on the dash start flashing. Not any of the warning lamps now the actual backlight. Not seeing any unexpected warning lights coming up.

My first would have been that it was simply the bulb. Except that about 15 minutes before that a driver had gestured me to open my window. He had told to put on lights. I told them they were on which they were. And he said well your back one aren't. I pulled up immediately up the road and check everything. Indicators, had my passenger check if the break light full illuminated when the brakes were pressed, checked the fogs etc. Everything looked fine.

Not having any trouble starting the car and not losing any power. Not sure what else to add. If you need to know any more Ask and I will clarify.

    Car: Seat Leon
    Liter: 1.4
    Power: 75bhp model
    Year: 2001

Could be a fuse or two.

fuses wont cause intermittent problem, they break and things stop working and they wont return of their own accord.

id guess theres an earthing problem. but all that is, is a semi educated guess.

intermittent problems are the hardest to find but it sounds like you have a break somewhere that is earthing off the body

Gonna try and revive this thread as I am have similar issues with my Seat Leon TDI, I have the same issue with the back light in the dash it comes on when the car is off and parked...I have also had issues with the back lights.

I think this is down to moister in the car causing some short out some where.

Just wondering if anybody could suggest a garage to bring it too in the Galway area?

    Thanks!
