    Hi guys,

I just saw someone here get banned for a week because he was selling a gun, and after getting no offers sold it to a friend who isn't on boards, What I don't understand is why can't he sell the gun to his friend if nobody here wants it ?
I mean it's his gun can't he do what he wants with it or does his friend have to go make a boards account just so he can offer on his friends gun ?

Thanks for the help because this is really confusing me  ?

my understanding is you must withdraw the item from sale here then try and sell it elsewhere.

So if someone asks me would I sell my airsoft gun to him, I think it's ridiculous that I have to go home and update my thread before I can sell to him

when you start a for sale thread you commit to selling within the rules of the site. the same as when you sign up in the first place you commit to folowing the rules in general.

however i personally think it is a bit silly in this kind of situation, but we are looking at the rules regards adverts so we will take this feedback into account.

It's no different than if you want to sell something through ebay. It's not stupid nor counterintuitive. The adverts section is a method of connecting sellers with buyers, if you put an ad up you are committing to selling through boards, and yes, that means your if friend expresses interest in the item but someone already offered asking on boards you have to decide between accepting the boards offer or accepting a ban.

But what if no offer was made on boards

then withdraw the ad and accept your friend's offer in that order.
