Ultegra 10 Speed Jockey Wheels

    Hi Guys,

Quick question - I replaced the jockey wheels on my Ultegra 10Sp Mech today, but the shop only had BBB in stock. He assured me they'd be fine, but now there's a slight clicking noise from the mech. The ones he sold me are 10 tooth - I'm fairly certain the originals were 11 tooth but are now gone into the communal bins in my apt complex so I can't get them back to check.

I also put a new chain and cassette on so I'm not sure if it's the chain/cassette or jockey wheels. Nothing's visibly rubbing and the chain and cassette are both Shimano 105 (couldn't afford the Ultegra), so they're perfectly matched and so I'm confident they're not the problem.

It's got to be the Jockey Wheels, right? I might just get the Ultegra Set off CRC when they come back in stock, but I'd like to get out on the bike asap. I'm worried whatever the clicking noise is, it will ruin the new chain and cassette :(

    Thanks

Found original Jockey Wheels and put them on - yes, they're 11 tooth and quite different to the BBB 10 tooth in terms of diameter and the size of the teeth.

    Unfortunately the noise remains :(

So now I have to assume it's the new chain and cassette.

    Ideas?

when exactly is the click happening. If it were one of the jockey wheels it would be a regular click. If it happens once every so often but consistent I could be the chain. What did you use to join the chain? Remember once you remove a shimano pin/link it cannot be put back in. If you use a special join pin it may need a bit of force just to 'lock' it in.put the link on the top of the cassette and stand down on the pedal to lock it in.
