If I was going as a couple, prob €150 if I could afford that!! I have given €200 o family/friends though. I try to cover the cost of the meals and give a little extra, but alot of people are not as generous.

Same as this. Would generallly have given €200 in the past but at present could probably only afford €150.

By yourself or as a couple? €50 - €100 if single, €100 - €150 if couple. It all depends on what you can afford. You are invited to their wedding because they want to celebrate their special day with you, not because they are looking to get money out of you.

If you can't afford €50, buy a present for less. Something that I think is nice (off the top of my head) that won't cost much, is a Newbridge christmas decoration. They are really lovely and everytime they put their tree up at christmas and put the decoration on it, they'll think of you! A lot better than buying some Newbridge silverware or any sort of ornament, etc.
