So here is the last Dolph Threads I could find
http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055750894&highlight=Dolph+Ziggler , it makes a good read now!

So I wanted to start a thread simply to praise Dolph and basically call him The Ultimate Survivor, I don't think anyone survived so much crap but he stuck with it. Also as a thread to say why I think he has proven he could be great in 2011.

So here is the list of 2011 things I really like about Dolph

    1) He Survived being Kerwin Whites Caddy
Reasons 2 to 2000) He Survived the Spirit Squad.
2001) He made a long term come back from the OVW storage box. Despite not being the stand out guy from the group he got back on track in WWE. Nobody else form the group managed too.
2002) He managed to make the Name Dolph Ziggler work and not sound so ridiculous.
2003) He survived the initial ""Hi. I'm Dolph Ziggler", Gimmick
2004) The way he came back from the disappointment of not winning the IC title from Rey when he should have.
2005) He managed to make the sleeper hold a submission move in 2010. I am shocked anyone was able to do that!
2006) The fact he has Vickie is his corner means he should be great in 2011. Unlike Edge when paired up with Vickie he was able to make it work in a way that stopped Vickie Totally outshining him. This is to Vickie's credit too.
2007) His background, he was an amateur wrestler and has great athleticism.
    2008) His match(s) with Danielson
2009) The overall Quality of his matches and feuds. He got something from feuding with the Great Khali, from Kane. He had top notch matches with Rey, Jo Mo, Kofi and recently with Swagger/Kofi
    2010) His theme Tune
2011) Did I mention he survived the spirit squad?

So does Dolph have a chance of Being WWEs Breakout Star for 2011?

Yes I agree. He's one of the guys I like to watch at the moment. I do think he's a bit like Morrison in needing to work on the mic skills, although I'd put him higher than Morrison at talking. I reckon he stands a good chance of winning the MITB case in 2011 and I'd like to see him and Vickie get a more prominent role this year. With a slow build I think he could be made important like Miz was. He's certainly capable of being the breakout star of 2011.

Agree on the mic skills, I kind of ignored that part as i wanted to praise him:pac:

As he has Vickie by his side it gives him a major boost.

Dolph and Del Rio will break out in 2011. I hope Dolph gives a good showing against Edge at the Rumble. It'd be hard to ignore his last few months if it is a fairly good match. Wouldnt mind seeing him with MITB

When you look at where he's come from he's done really well to be at the level he's at. His attitude and work ethic is obviously bang on and that's a large part of getting ahead. I'm sure he'll be a world champ at some point. Possibly wrong thread/off topic but is anyone else from Spirit Squad doing anything of note?

Kenny is the hottest self-proclaimed Free Agent at the moment. Agree with everything said about Ziggler. He's on fire right now and I hope after dropping the IC belt he doesn't end back up on the lower end of the midcard after his title match with Edge at the Rumble. This could really be his year.

I think CM Punk is the best in the WWE right now but Ziggler is my favourite to watch.

I'm watching Smackdown right now and was disappointed he lost the IC title and joked to myself "Ah well, at least he's free to go for the WHC now!" then Excuse Me sounded over the mic. Hooway!

Enjoyed Raw this week and once again Smackdown shows they can do it better in my mind and I think Guerrero's specifically there to back up Ziggler's weakness with the microphone.

Being able to take a bump well is one of the main things I enjoy in a rassler, which is the trouble I'm having getting behind Sheamus (he's getting better though...) and why I easily take Mick Foley over Ric Flair.

I'm happy. He'll almost certainly lose to Edge but he'll look good doing it. And I didn't even like Ziggler until he dropped the self-introduction gimmick.

^^^^^Reason 2012 the way he takes a bump.

He always makes other wrestlers moves look great.

I actually quite liked that thing. It got everyone to know who he is anyway at least.

Agreed on the rest of it. If only he could jettison the god awful name he would be a major player for years to come. I just cannot ever see "Dolph Ziggler" being a serious main event name.

Well at the start of 2011 he is the WHC title match at the RR I dont anyone would have predicted that. I have enjoyed his IC title reign and matches. I think when he drops Vickie he could get do well as a face imo.

Im a big fan of his at the moment

If you think about it WWE have a very good young roster which if used right could be brilliant viewing for 2011

He easily had the best Daniel Bryan match of the year. Twice.

Has huge potential but I don't want to see him go babyface anytime soon.

I've been impressed with Ziggler, I made him my #10 Wrestler of the Year in 2010. Over the last 2 years he's been working with great non-main event talent WWE have to offer - feuds with Bryan, Mysterio, Morrison....and very respectable matches with Christian, MVP and Kofi; the guy has improved a lot.

He's so lucky to be paired with heat-magnet Vickie Guerrero.

A few things still bug me :
He's not great on the mic
He really needs to expand on his character (he's pretty much just your standard cocky heel)
Between the Zig & Zag and the famasser, he's got my least favourite special moves. Maybe it's because they're not great moves.

I agree, can't stand the Zig-Zag at all but the FameAsser at least looks a bit more painful.

I prefer his real name tbh, Nic Nemeth sounds a bit more bad ass.

He's got everything there to become WHC by the end of the year, if not sooner.

I wonder if Edge is going to drag up any of the la familia stuff before their match?:pac:

    Which reminds me:

Back when Superstars was putting out at least one good match last year: Ziggler vs Masters in a battle to see who can lock their finisher in first.

Then they did a rematch on Smackdown and jobbed Masters straight out.
